Humming noise at 60 mph

While I was driving 45 mph or 65 mph, it was gone. I thought it was me but 3 passengers have commented that it sounded like a window was open in the car when I hit 60 mph. It is very stiff to turn, I think the caliper has seized and is not releasing completely, the disk also has some discoloration as if it's getting very hot. I was thinking wheel bearing too, though there is no excessive play in My 2010 civic started making noise about a couple of months ago. If it IS the wheel bearings, you should know that some cars require replacing the entire hub assembly as the hub unit (including bearings) is not servicable. Sounds like it is coming from the front I am not sure what type of wheel drive it is my Taurus is a 2002 DOHC 24 valve engine/V6 My 2005 Mazda 3 with 73K miles (roughly 20K on the tires) on it starts to make a sound, just like your washing machine does when all of the clothes go to one side and its still spinning, when I get to 50 MPH. noise goes away when I let off the gas, but as soon as I apply the gas pedal it comes back.
